ToneFlush plays a low tone through your iPhone's built-in speaker. The diaphragm moves air, and that movement may help push water sitting in or just behind the grille back out. That is the whole idea — and the app is deliberately clear about where it ends.

Four tone patterns, each with a fixed length and a stated frequency range, so you can try one, wait, and try a different one — instead of holding a random video's tone against your phone and hoping.

A measurement, not a guess

The Speaker Test plays a ladder of tones out of each speaker your iPhone lets an app reach and measures what comes back through the microphone. Run it, run a pattern, run it again — and each speaker gets its own before, after and change.

What it cannot do

Sound moves liquid. It does not move dry particles, and no app that plays a tone can pretend otherwise. So:

The app says this on the screen you start from, every time — not once in an onboarding flow you tapped through. And if your iPhone shows lasting distortion, charging problems, display trouble, overheating or unexpected shutdowns, ToneFlush tells you to stop and talk to someone who can open it. More sound will not fix any of those.

Quick Blast ~165 Hz · 30 s A pulsed tone. Free, once every other day.
Deep Purge ~180–260 Hz · 30 s A quieter glide across a narrow span.
Double Tap 140 / 180 / 220 Hz · 36 s Steps through three frequencies in turn.
Boss Mode ~120–300 Hz · 45 s The widest glide, over the longest run.

165 Hz is a commonly used starting point, not a universal optimum. Speaker hardware differs between iPhone models, which is why a sweep is often a better second try than repeating the same tone. None of these patterns is known to work where another does not — they differ in how much ground they cover, and that is all the app claims.

Every tone is synthesised in real time. No audio files, no downloads, and nothing to fetch — the whole app works in airplane mode.

Clean at the edges

Frequencies are integrated into a continuous phase so sweeps stay smooth, every tone fades in and out so there is no click, and the level is capped below full scale so the signal never clips.

Your speaker, or nothing

ToneFlush refuses to play through headphones, AirPods, Bluetooth, AirPlay or car audio. The tone only does anything if it comes out of the phone's own speaker, so the route is checked before every session.

It never touches your volume

There is no public way for an app to turn your phone up, and ToneFlush does not reach for a private one. It shows you a readiness meter and leaves the hardware buttons to you.

Privacy

No account, no advertising, and no tracking. Your settings and your speaker-test readings stay on your iPhone and go when you delete the app. Two things leave it, and neither carries your name or anything that identifies you: your purchase, checked so the unlock follows you to a new phone, and anonymous usage data. The privacy policy spells out exactly which events those are.
