Replies usually go out within two business days. It helps if you mention your iPhone model, your iOS version, and which level you were on.
Purchases
I bought Remove Ads and the ads came back.
Open Settings › Manage purchases in the game, or tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the Chips store. Either one asks the App Store what your Apple Account owns and puts it back.
Two things worth checking first: that you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on, and that you have a connection. The game keeps your purchase on the device, so a plane or a tunnel will not take it away — but a device that has never seen the purchase needs one moment online to learn about it.
I bought Chips and they have not arrived.
Chips are added the instant the App Store confirms the payment, so if the balance at the top of the store did not move, the charge almost certainly did not go through either — the game credits nothing until a transaction comes back finished.
If you have been charged and the Chips are genuinely missing, email the address above with the date and the pack you bought and it will be sorted out.
I want a refund.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — we never see your payment details and cannot reverse a charge. Settings › Manage purchases in the game opens Apple's own refund request flow directly. You can also use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is Remove Ads a subscription?
No. It is a single payment, it never renews, and there is nothing to cancel. It follows your Apple Account, so it works on your next iPhone too.
Progress
I got a new iPhone and my progress is gone.
Progress does not transfer, and this is worth being straight about: BrickPong has no account and no iCloud sync, so your levels, stars and Chips live on the device that earned them. A new phone starts at level 1.
Purchases do transfer, because those belong to your Apple Account rather than to the install. Tap Restore Purchases on the new device and Remove Ads comes back.
The game says my saved progress could not be read.
That message means the save file on the device was damaged — usually by the app being killed mid-write — and the game started a fresh one rather than refusing to open. There is no way to recover the old one, and we are sorry. If you see it more than once, please email, because twice is a bug rather than bad luck.
Can I start over?
Yes. Settings › Reset all progress clears levels, stars and best scores. It asks first, because it cannot be undone. Anything you bought with real money is not affected.
Advertising
Why am I suddenly getting a full-screen ad before every level?
Two boards a day are free of them. After you have cleared your second board of the day, a full-screen ad runs before each new level you start, until the day turns over at midnight.
Retrying a level you just lost never carries one, and quitting never carries one. Only starting a new board does. If you would rather not see them at all, Remove Ads takes them away for good.
I watched the ad for an extra life and did not get one.
The life is granted when the ad reports that you watched enough of it. Closing it early does not count, and neither does an ad that failed to load — in that case the offer simply will not appear. You can take the offer twice per run.
How do I change my advertising consent?
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game shows a consent form the first time you open it. Settings › Ad privacy settings reopens that form whenever you like, and you can change your answer there.
That row only appears where a consent form applies. Elsewhere there is nothing behind it, so the game does not draw a button that opens nothing.
What is the tracking prompt for, and what if I say no?
It asks whether advertising may use your device's advertising identifier to choose more relevant ads. Say no and the game behaves identically — you still get ads, they are just less well matched. You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Playing
What are stars for, and can I buy them?
Three stars per board, 315 in the game. They are never spent and never lost — they are a record of how well you cleared something, and the expensive items in the shop need a star count as well as a price.
Stars cannot be bought. Not in any pack, not at any price. They are the one thing in the game money does not reach, which is deliberate: it is what keeps the shop something you finish by playing.
A level is too hard.
Difficulty here is the size of the wall, not the precision demanded of you — every level gives you the same paddle and the same ball speed. So the answer is usually the orbs rather than your aim: take the multipliers when they drop, use SLOW to read a crowded board, and take the safety net when a run is going well and you want to keep it. RISK ×5 is worth it more often than it looks.
There is no sound.
Check the ring/silent switch on the side of your iPhone, then Settings › Sound and Music in the game, which are separate switches.
If sound stopped part-way through a session, closing the app fully and reopening it will bring it back. If it keeps happening, please email — that is a bug and it is one worth hearing about.
The animation is too much.
Settings › Reduced motion tones down the movement in the menus and overlays. The game also follows the system-wide Reduce Motion setting in iOS Accessibility. Haptics have their own switch in the same place.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, running iOS 17 or later, in portrait. There is no iPad version: everything in BrickPong is laid out for a phone held in one hand, and a version stretched across a tablet would be the same game with half the screen empty.
Anything else
Bugs, ideas, a board you loved, a board you hated — all of it is welcome at nickpetver@gmail.com. BrickPong is made by one person, so you are writing to the person who can actually change it.
